Graduate

While I enjoyed all of my degree, the highlight was the fourth year when you have much more freedom to opt for topics in Chemistry that interest you the most.

After my MChem, I’m going to stay on at Southampton and do a PhD in electrochemistry with Professor Andrea Russell

For my research project, I chose to look at how the subject can best be taught to A Level and first year undergraduate students. I reviewed the A Level syllabus from several exam boards and worked out how to help them learn about catalysis, considering some educational theories and how to teach advanced topics, making suggestions for lab work. I also did some linked research and tested my learning resources with some Foundation Year students.
