Dr Ahmad Maaitah is an Assistant Professor of Finance and FinTech at the University of Southampton Business School. He serves as Programme Director for the BSc Finance and FinTech and as Deputy Director of the Centre for Digital Finance, and coordinates undergraduate research dissertations across the School.
His research develops econometric and network-based approaches to understand and forecast risk transmission across financial markets, with particular focus on cryptocurrencies and digital finance. Current themes include long-memory and cointegration-based forecasting, regime switching in crypto and energy markets, and volatility modelling and connectedness analysis.
He has published on spillovers and connectedness in crypto markets, alongside outputs on crypto market networks and cyberattacks and on forecasting in energy markets.
