Our Presidential Bursaries for overseas postgraduate researchers will cover the fee difference between UK and overseas fees. These bursaries are open to all overseas candidates.
Applications for Presidential Bursaries are accepted from overseas candidates demonstrating exceptional academic performance.
Applicants must be accepted to commence doctoral study by research at the University of Southampton in the academic year 2024/25. We encourage applications from all overseas students in all subject areas.
Candidates must be in possession of, or due to receive, either:
Equivalency may be established by reference to standard comparators such as NARIC.
Scholarship recipients must commence their doctoral studies by research between 1 August and 1 December 2024.
The Presidential Bursaries do not require a separate application from the candidate. Faculties will make applications for bursaries to the Doctoral College on behalf of suitably qualified candidates
