Lucy Comer MSci Biology and Marine Biology, 2018

Studying both biology and marine biology provides a breadth of knowledge of life across every available habitat on earth. The combination of the two degrees also means the opportunity to select from twice as many modules allowing me to tailor my degree to my interests.
The lectures are given by those working in the field and detail the most current research and techniques.
The modules consist of a variety of teaching methods as well as traditional lectures including: lab work, boat work, field trips and projects.
Studying at the University of Southampton has offered me many opportunities including four residential field trips to biologically significant locations, including the Galápagos Islands, along with other day trips. I have also undertaken a marine mammal identification qualification, organised by the University in association with ORCA.
