Sha’ven joined the University of Southampton as a Teaching Fellow in Accounting in September 2015. She previously worked as a supervisor, tutor, teaching and research assistant at the University of Birmingham. She completed her PhD degree in Accounting from the University of Birmingham. She also holds an MSC. degree in International Accounting and Finance (2008-2009) from the University of Birmingham and a B.Sc. degree (2003-2006) from the University of Buea. Professionally, Sha’ven is recognised as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in the UK (2016).


She has considerable experience in teaching academic and professional courses in accounting and Finance. She also worked as a part-time accountant in CAPCOL (a Microfinance Institution-MFI), Cameroon. Her research interest is interdisciplinary, and in large part underlined by case studies in private sectors of less developed countries (LDCs).

  • Management Accounting and development issues in developing and emerging economies
  • Interdisciplinary research across management control systems, entrepreneurship and Accountability issues
