I am a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Academic Centre for International Students, part of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Southampton.

I have worked in ELT for nineteen years and taught General English, English for Academic Purposes, English for Specific Purposes, Critical Thinking and British Culture. I am a member of BALEAP and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

I coordinated the Pre-sessional Reading and Writing team for both Course A and Course B from 2012-2015, leading a large team of Class Tutors and Programme Coordinators.

I am currently the Examinations and Academic Integrity Officer for the Academic Centre for International Students. I coordinate English Language Stage 7, drafting all module documents, assignments and exams. I am a tutor on English Language Stage 4. I also lead academic skills support classes for PGRs at the School of Medicine and for MA Global Media Management students at WSA. I act as a Personal Academic Tutor for International Centre and Erasmus students.

My pedagogical research interests lie in: course design; staff development and training; materials and development for subject-specific EAP support; metaphor and culture in language teaching.

I currently teach across a broad range of EAP and English Language programmes at the University. As Examinations and Academic Integrity Officer, I support colleagues and students with regard to University regulations and promoting good practice.
