In this module you will explore principles of programming and creative production for innovative technological applications. Using accessible platforms including block-based coding, simple robotics and front-end web design you will work on exercises that will quickly develop your technical skills and allow you to experiment with creative ideas.

Syllabus
You will engage with a set of workshops and exercises that will both support the development of your technical skills, and encourage creative exploration through applied coding.
The programming languages and platforms will vary from year to year, as will the set exercises and experiments. However they might include designing a game using block-programming, front-end web coding, the manipulation and animation of visual data, simple AI applications such as chatbots, and platforms such as Raspberry Pi might be used along with conventional computers.
The emphasis throughout will be for you to grasp some key principles of computing and to apply them in creative and experimental ways.

Teaching will include technical support in key platforms and languages, and will follow a workshop-based and collaborative ethos with, with peer learning, discussion, and the encouragement of risk and experimentation.
