Fernando Galvan Rivera received his bachelor degree in Mechatronic from Queretaro Institute of Technology, Mexico. Then he worked two year as control and instrumentation research in CIDEC Condumex. In 2011, Fernando received his M.Sc. in Mechatronic from Aachen University of Applied Sciences, Germany. Then, he worked 4 years in General Electric Aviation Mexico as Control System Engineer. In October 2015, Fernando started his PhD at the University of Southampton, sponsored by CONACYT. The aim of his research project is to stablish the benefits and limitation of Acoustic Emission Technique to monitor crack initiation and crack growth in a mooring chain.
