Human response to horizontal and rotational vibration from 1 to 20 Hz

Current international standards provide guidelines for determining likely effects of exposure to vibration, but are not always based on complete data, or are extrapolated from like results. This project aims to advance understanding of human responses to fore-and-aft, lateral, roll, and pitch vibration at frequencies between 1 and 20 Hz. This research will facilitate the development of an improved model of human response to vibration in these axes, which will improve understanding of frequency weightings for comfort and multiplying factors indicating the relative importance of axes.
