Microfluidics Laboratory

 

We operates a dedicated laboratory for the integration of microfluidic lab-on-a-chip technology with advanced NMR spectroscopy. This requires the construction of custom hardware, for example NMR probes that can accommodate lab-on-a-chip devices instead of conventional sample tubes. The laboratory is equipped with high-quality microscopes, syringe pumps, and a complete electronics workshop to support these activities.

One of the main objectives of this work is to integrate microfluidic perfusion culture of cells and tissue slices with NMR detection of metabolic processes. We therefore also operate a dedicated cell and tissue culture laboratory (biosafety level 1), complete with a biosafety hood, incubators, autoclave, and fluorescence microscopy.

The Laboratory is also equipped with a Magritek Spinsolve 80.
