Dr Katy Heady is a Teaching Fellow in German Languages in Modern Languages and Linguistics at the University of Southampton.

I have studied German at the universities of Cambridge, Durham and Sheffield. In 2007 I completed a PhD on the relationship between censorship and German literature in the early nineteenth century. Since then, I have taught German at the universities of Sheffield, Loughborough and Oxford, and have also worked as a tutor on Lifelong Learning and Pre-sessional courses here at Southampton.

Research interests

My main research interests are literature and censorship, the interconnections between literature, history and politics, and music and literature.
