Research interests

I have always had a keen interest in cancer research, having lost many loved ones to the disease. My interest in bone biology developed later during my undergraduate degree, following lectures on the skeletal system by Dr Claire Clarkin.

My dissertation centred around the interaction between bone and blood vessel cells during fracture repair.

Undergraduate Dissertation: Osteoblast Conditioned Media Reduces Endothelial Cell Viability but Upgregulates Endothelial Cell Migration Under Hypoxic Conditions

My PhD combines my two research areas of interest – oncology and osteology – and aims to validate the potential of novel, label-free microscopy techniques for research and diagnosis of osteosarcoma.
