Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:

• demonstrate the ability to undertake problem identification and analysis to appropriately design, develop, test, integrate or deploy a complex computing system and any associated artefacts; understand the relationship between stages and be able to demonstrate problem-solving and evidence-informed evaluative skills

Theories and practices of prototyping, simulation and modelling, speculative design, UX and HCI will be introduced in lectures and seminars. Workshop support for fabrication, including for example, paper prototyping, 3D printing, sculpture and installation. Discussion of and support for theoretical research and its application to practice.

Teaching and learning methods

Workshop-based support for construction and fabrication, and refresher sessions in key technical and programming skills. Lectures on theory and practice of creative technology prototyping and speculative design, and seminar support for the development of individual research questions and methods.
