Having successfully completed this module, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:
- Produce scientific hypotheses and critically evaluate evidence in support of them
- Produce a dissertation of about 5,000 words on an agreed research topic
- Assimilate information and synthesise scientific hypotheses
- Use library and other IT facilities to access scientific information
Syllabus
This module is designed for students who are taking the MRes Evolution: From the Galapagos to the 21st Century degree. After discussion with the module coordinators the student will select a topic and discuss a specific area of the topic with an appropriate member of staff who will then supervise the project. Students will be directed to appropriate lectures across modules, either attending, or on Panopto.
