Module overview

This module aims to introduce you to the variety of demographic experiences in low and middle-income countries across the world, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean and, Asia. We will explore the patterns of historical and contemporary changes in population processes in LMICs including mortality, fertility, migration. In this module, we discuss the interrelationships between population change and key social, economic, cultural, political and spatial factors; evaluating the combined impacts on important topical issues including child and maternal health, use of family planning, education and forced migration.
