Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:

• Adhere to ethical and governance requirements when conducting an inquiry.
• Interpret results, synthesising ideas to generate solutions and evaluate clinical relevance.
• Collect data using methods which are justified with respect to the aims of the inquiry.
• Critically evaluate the process of inquiry with respect to trustworthiness of the results by identifying strengths and limitations of the process.
• Demonstrate an ability to present and disseminate information in a succinct, informative and sufficiently-detailed manner.
• Analyse and present data using appropriate methods.

This module will build on your knowledge and skills from the Research Methods module in year 2, facilitating you to carry out and prepare findings for dissemination.

Module content will build on prior knowledge gained from the year 2 Research Methods module. You will be able to gain further knowledge in:

Project planning

Study skills development for level 6 writing

Data collection, storage and transfer ethical, moral and practical issues

Ethical approval processes and accessing data/participants.

Literature review methodology and reporting literature reviews

Audit and improvement projects research methods and their application

Analysing and reporting quantitative data,

Analysing and reporting qualitative data,

Mixed methods studies

Integrating and synthesising findings from studies,

Research dissemination

Teaching and learning methods

This module comprises seminars and individual supervision sessions. The module activity is primarily self-directed.
