Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:

• Formulate an experimental design to answer a simple research question
• Select and apply appropriate statistical tests and measures
• Write sections of experimental reports following APA format
• Interpret the outcome of statistical tests and measures
• Present data using graphs and/or tables in APA format

oChoosing the right statistical test

oNon-Parametric Difference Tests (Mann-Whitney-U)

oParametric t-tests (Paired; Unpaired)

oOne-factor ANOVA (independent groups; multiple comparisons)

oBivariate correlation (Pearson’s r; significance of a correlation)

Teaching and learning methods

Each week, there will be one hour of pre-recorded lecture content, plus a one-hour live, interactive session, supplemented by up to two additional hours of direct learning requirements. These additional hours will involve a combination of data collection and independent study.
