Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:
- Demonstrate competence in developing and maintaining a collaborative therapeutic alliance with patients during their treatment programme, including dealing with issues and events that threaten the alliance.
- Demonstrate understanding of theoretical models underpinning counselling skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of multi-agency working, working within the scope of your own practice, and when to involve other agencies.
- Demonstrate critical awareness of evidence-based interventions and strategies to assist clients in managing their emotional distress and disturbance.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of issues to do with race, culture and diversity which need to be considered when working with services users.
- Demonstrate understanding and competence in using behaviour change models and strategies in the delivery of low-intensity interventions with people experiencing homelessness.
- Demonstrate an awareness of own factors/beliefs/assumptions and ability to manage this when working with service users.
