Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:

• Identify the economic / societal beneficiaries of the research, e.g. demonstrate an understanding of the relevance of the project for educational psychology in practice
• Identify the ‘pathways to impact’ i.e. consider how to practically embed research methods, results and outcomes for the benefit of academic and non-academic stake-holders.
• Draft research summaries and articles for dissemination to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
• Evaluate the academic impact of research
• Identify the academic beneficiaries of their research, i.e. consider how their research questions, methods, and findings will extend the knowledge/methods base
• Critically evaluate research

Students will participate in a small number of workshop sessions and then use the techniques practiced to prepare to disseminate their own research.

Assessment strategy

Portfolio - group assessment:

1. Wider dissemination piece;

2. A journal article prepared for publication

3. Covering letter to the journal editor

4. Conference poster.
