Road safety in low-income countries: State of knowledge and future directions

This project undertook a systematic review and produced a state of knowledge paper on road safety in low-income countries. Particular focus was placed on underreporting, limited data conditions, unobserved heterogeneity, emerging technologies and new forms of data, novel approaches, expected increases in traffic volumes, dumping of old vehicles, and advanced vehicle safety features. This work was part of the High Volume Transport applied research programme. It involved a collaboration with the Johns Hopkins International Injury Research Unit.
