About

Sue is the Associate Dean International for The Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences and is also a Professorial Fellow Education within the School of Health Sciences. Throughout her career Sue has worked in research intensive universities where she has focussed on education as a transformative process, both at the individual student and organisational (service improvement) level. Increasing social mobility and making a positive social impact are central to Sue's work.  Having secured grants from the European Union and the United Nations Population Fund to explore global perspectives relevant to mobility, leadership development and impact, her transition to an international role was timely.

Sue is a keen advocate of the University of Southampton strategy and, in particular, the International Strategic Plan. Within the Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences, Sue is working with each School on developing a bespoke framework for global engagement, that facilitates global interdisciplinary work and encourages students to collaborate creatively across borders.
