Dr Hajira Dambha-Miller is an NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Primary Care research within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton and a GP.

Hajira is an NHS GP with regular clinical practice in hours and with urgent care services. Hajira holds a PhD (Public Health and Primary care) and a Master's degree (Evidence-Based Healthcare). She completed an Academic Clinical Fellowship and NIHR Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Cambridge.

Hajira is interested in translating epidemiological knowledge into preventive action. Her programme of research contributes to efforts aimed at preventing the burden of chronic preventable disease with a focus on type 2 diabetes. She is also editor-in-chief at BJGP Open.
