Research project: The Multimedia Works of Contemporary Latin American Women Artists and Writers

Currently Active:
Yes

This project focuses on the works of women writers and artists from the Spanish speaking world whose works straddle multiple disciplines (literature, art performance, photography, video, art installation, cyberspace) and whose works examine questions of gender, racial, environmental and socio-political injustices. It explores the ways in which authors and artists are crossing boundaries in order to reach new audiences, find new ways to convey their message and in so doing are challenging traditional conceptions of literature. This intended research outputs include a co-written book and co-edited book, articles, conferences, mobile exhibitions at WSA and CAS online residencies between Lain American and British multimedia artists.
