About

Jack Daniels is a PhD student at the International Centre of Ecohydraulics Research (ICER) within the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences.

His research combines individual-based modelling with fine-scale behavioural experiments and spatial analysis to investigate how river infrastructure can be used to limit the spread of invasive species. His research uses fundamental theory to address applied issues, and he is currently working alongside river managers to implement the findings of this PhD in real river systems.

Alongside his research, Jack teaches on several Undergraduate and Postgraduate modules, and has been involved in numerous outreach and science communication events. He is also the Postgraduate Representative for the British Ecological Society's Invasion Science Special Interest Group.
