An experienced researcher with a demonstrated history of working in academia and industry. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) focused in the field of Acoustics and Additive manufacturing for low-frequency noise control from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad, and awardee of the prestigious Prime Minister’s Fellowship for Doctoral Research. Currently working in the field of modelling of propeller noise in aircraft engines.
His research work is to develop/reformulate techniques to estimate the combustion noise of next-generation lean-burn engines. These engines have lean-burn combustors which are designed to reduce NOX emissions, and comparatively little is known about the noise emission from these types of combustors. He is involved in developing techniques to separate out engine core noise from the measured noise of entire engine.
He is also working on developing “mathematical/semi-analytic acoustic methods for new propeller-driven aircraft architectures”. The work is focused on the development of prediction methods for propellers and their interaction noise with the downstream wing or propeller.
Pertaining my Mechanical Engineering background and research experience in the field of Acoustics, I am interested in teaching core subjects and relevant laboratories related to Acoustics, Fluid Mechanics, and Vibrations.
Currently, I am working as a Research Fellow at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR), University of Southampton, on techniques to estimate the combustion noise of next generation lean-burn engines. At ISVR, I am also working on the prediction of propeller and it’s interaction noise with rear wing/rotor. I have done my PhD, entitled "Acoustic analysis of additive manufactured multilayer periodic structures" in 2019 from the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at IIT Hyderabad, India, which is one of the foremost research institutes in India. During my PhD, I was awarded the prestigious CII-Indian Prime Minister’s Fellowship for Doctoral Research. This work was mainly emphasized on the design and development of bio-inspired acoustic structures for low-frequency noise control using additive manufacturing techniques. During my stay at IIT Hyderabad, I also worked with several industry stakeholders like Eaton Technologies and Boeing Research & Technology in collaborative research to develop the technology. I did my bachelor’s and master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Shivaji University India. I was awarded with Gold Medal for my master’s degree at RIT, Shivaji University for securing highest CGPA among all departments of Engineering.
