Naomi's passion for cell biology was highlighted to her during her Masters project in 2019, where she had her first hands-on lab experience and trained in cell culture. As part of the Professor Anne Rosser's lab in the Brain Repair Group at Cardiff University, her project focused on optimising cellular expansion with a view to using expanded primary fetal cells for cell replacement therapy in Huntington's disease patients. After graduating with a first class Master of Neuroscience degree, she sought out further education by starting a PhD in Dr David Tumbarello's lab where she is currently a student.
She also has her own business that she runs alongside her PhD; an online stationery shop with products she designs herself that reflect mental health awareness and understanding.
