About
My name is Emilie Gérouville. I am very excited to start my Ph.D. degree at the Southampton University, Zepler Institute for Photonics and Nanoelectronics. I am working with polyoxometalates (POMs), investigating how they can be used to develop memory cells.
In June 2020, I graduated from the Advanced Spectroscopy in Chemistry Master’s program. This program is built on a partnership of five universities: Université de Lille (coordinating university, France), Universität Leipzig (Germany), Uniwersytet Jagielloński w Krakowie (Poland), Helsingin Ylioppisto (Finland) and Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna (Italy). I spent my first year at the Université de Lille and Universität. For my second year, I moved to Uniwersytet Jagielloński (Kraków) where I worked on my Master thesis, I investigated how nanoparticles (carbon based) can affect polymeric (PCL) structure using Raman spectroscopy.
Before that, I graduated from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium) where I finished my bachelor’s in Chemistry.
Besides chemistry, I also enjoy sports (martial arts, horse riding, …) and cooking.
