Dr Rodrigo Panosso Macedo applies mathematical and numerical methods to the solve problems within theory of General Relativity. His main interests are in the field of gravitational waves and compact objects (black holes/neutron stars).

Specifically, with the use of conformal transformations, the infinitely far boundaries of spacetime are mapped into a finite computational domain. The underlying equations are solved with the help of spectral methods, which provides highly accurate solutions to the gravitational wave research community.
