Research interests

  • Application of biomarkers to trace palaeoclimate and climate change
  • Interpreting the impact of global climate changes (e.g. glaciation) on regional parameters such as hydrology
  • Exploration of novel lipid biomarkers and applications (e.g. novel GDGTs)

I am a PhD candidate at the National Oceanography Centre, University of Southampton, in the Organic Geochemistry group.

My current work focuses upon the Oligocene, an interval during which global temperatures were >6-8 degrees higher than modern. The overall aim is to explore the extent to which temperature and the hydrological cycle are coupled during this interval.
