I am a Research Fellow in Geotechnical Engineering. While hired at the University of Southampton, I am working on the development of numerical models investigating liquefaction of solid bulk cargo during the marine transport on sea.
I obtained MSc in Structural Engineering from Cracow University of Technology (Poland) and MSc in Geotechnics from a jointly led course by Strathclyde University and University of Glasgow (Scotland).
I did my PhD in Earthquake Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Trento (Italy). During my PhD research I was working on validation of advanced soil constitutive models and their application in enhanced understanding of experimental and field observations of soil behaviour (and soil-structure interaction) under dynamic (seismic) loading.
Following the PhD time, the recent couple of years I dedicated to balancing between my long-standing passion for mountains and travelling, as well as being an Independent Researcher and developing my own research ideas with proposing creative and alternative ways of thinking to long-disputed subjects.
In addition to my academic background, I worked for a couple of years as a Bridge Engineer in Poland and a Geotechnical Engineer in Scotland. As a result of the industry experience part of my research interests is strongly related to Applied Research.
