Ms Sabina Zavoianu-Dutescu is a Health Psychology Trainee and a PhD Candidate within Psychology at the University of Southampton.

I completed my BSc in Psychology here at the University of Southampton in 2015. My final research project involved interviewing participants with Meniere’s disease and other multimorbid conditions.

In 2015, I was awarded the Psychology Jubilee 1+3 Postgraduate Research Scholarship to do an MSc in Health Psychology and a PhD and Stage 2 Training in Health Psychology. My MSc dissertation looked at the experience of people living with asthma, as well as their views towards psychological interventions. The findings will be used as part of the PhD to inform the development and delivery of an intervention aimed at improving various asthma outcomes.

Research interests

I am interested in using the Person-Based Approach to intervention planning and development to help improve several health outcomes in people with asthma. I am also interested in helping improve self-management and quality of life in people with chronic conditions.
