I am a Teaching Fellow in the Academic Centre for International Students, part of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of University of Southampton.

I have a Bachelor’s degree from Goldsmiths College, University of London, and I am a CELTA and DELTA qualified teacher.

Research interests

My interests lie in designing materials for courses, which combine teaching of English language and academic literacy and critical thinking. I am also interested in methods of assessment, particularly for reading skills.

I joined the University in 2007, teaching English and EAP (Academic Purposes). My main roles are Module Coordinator on EAS (English for Academic Studies), IFYP (International Foundation Year Programme) and the Pre-sessional Course B. I also teach a variety of other courses such as providing support to Maths students and Music students.

Before Southampton, I worked as a language teacher for a number of years for the British Council in Thailand and Japan. During this time, I taught a wide variety of courses. In Thailand, my teaching focused on teacher training, providing training to teachers in various Thai institutions, teacher training for prospective teachers and teachers within the British Council. In Japan, my work was more focused on the EdUK programme, which prepared students for academic study in the UK.
