Research project: Transforming Organisational Culture

Organisational culture and attempts made to change it provide fertile ground for research. Academics are interested in investigating the factors involved in successful change and using insights from companies and organisations to help inform a theory of culture change.

This project was funded by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. It sought to identify what is currently known about organisational culture transformation in terms of:

  1. What factors are associated with driving organisational culture transformation?

  2. What methods/approaches of organisational culture transformation can be identified?

  3. How do these methods and approaches relate to a wider understanding of organisational change processes and dynamics?

  4. How can practical insights gained from organisations undergoing culture change help inform a theory of organisational culture change?
