Research project: Reid: Development and utilisation of sulfimide derivatised macrocyclic systems

In related work in collaboration with Dr P.F. Kelly (Loughborough) we have developed a new class of macrocyclic framework involving sulfimide (SNH) functions.

We have successfully demonstrated that these can be used to link macrocyclic species. Selenimide (SeNH) functions are more elusive, however the Ph2SeNH and Ph2SeNBr may be generated in situand used to form [Ph2SeNSePh2]+. We have also begun to investigate the reactivity of these species towards both with s-block elements and transition metals.
