Delivering Healthcare Innovation through Informatics solutions advancing clinical research across the globe

CIRU (Clinical Informatics Research Unit) operates as an applied research and enterprise unit within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton and are winners of the ACDM Innovation Award 2020. 

CIRU is made up of five key service groups known as EDGE, CORE, AXIS, RESIN and KITE covering data management, form design, data integration, global health research and new concepts and clinical innovation design.

EDGE

EDGE is a cloud-based Clinical Trials Management system used within 80% of the NHS, throughout Canada, Belgium & more.

CORE

CORE offers a range of expert services including the design, build and running of electronic forms.

AXIS

AXIS have the ultimate mission to set up a framework where clinical data extraction, transformation and integration happens seamlessly.

RESIN

RESIN is an analysis of global investments for health research, awarded from public and philanthropic funders.

KITE

The KITE team work on unique products and services used within research and healthcare.
