Having successfully completed this module, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:
- Learn about the strategies required to fulfil one’s personal linguistic and intellectual goals during the period of residence abroad.
- Learning how to manage expectations and your wellbeing.
- Understand the importance of self-efficacy and engagement during the period of residence abroad to fulfil the goals of cultural immersion.
- Understand the ways a period of residence abroad helps you develop additional knowledge and skills.

Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:
- Learn about effective strategies to immerse yourself in a new culture and society.
- Learn about strategies to maintain and improve your languages autonomously.
Subject Specific Intellectual and Research Skills
Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:
- Research about countries cultural norms and different ways of life, and think about cultural differences as an asset.
- Reflect on the impact of cultural exchange, particularly of extensive travelling to local languages and cultures (Sustainability).
- Develop the ability to research all practical aspects of living abroad in a country where a language other than English is spoken.

Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:
- Develop your ability to network and proactively research opportunities for growth.
- You will develop organisational and time management skills by adhering to guidelines and deadlines.
