To provide experience of the basic practical techniques used in modern instrumental electrochemistry.

Learning Outcomes

Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:

  • A basic understanding of experimental techniques in electrochemical research so that the student is able to understand the basic concepts as presented in research papers that employ electrochemical techniques.


Experimental techniques: electrolysis, RDE and RRDE, potential step, cyclic voltammetry, AC impedance, microelectrodes, spectroelectrochemistry. Applications: fuel cells, improving the environment
