To provide experience of the basic practical techniques used in modern instrumental electrochemistry.

Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:

  • A basic understanding of experimental techniques in electrochemical research so that the student is able to design experiments that use the basic techniques.

Syllabus

Students will complete 6 practical's: Basic treatment of electrochemical data with origin (computer based) Factors affecting instrumental response in electrochemistry (laboratory based) Simulations of electrochemical reactions (computer based) Electrochemical experiments with a rotating disc electrode (laboratory based) AC Impedance (laboratory based) Microelectrodes (laboratory based)
