Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:

• Undertake an examination of the locomotor, respiratory, and cardiovascular systems.
• Demonstrate an understanding of how patients’ behaviours and social context may influence their health.
• Begin to understand the importance of reflective practice in your personal professional development.
• Identify key features of effective communication (verbal and non verbal) and demonstrate these skills with patients, peers and staff.
• Recognise and demonstrate the importance of being able to give and receive feedback in a constructive way.
• Take a detailed medical history, including asking about symptoms of locomotor, respiratory, and cardiovascular disease.
• Explore the history of a patient's presenting problem.
• Use and apply clinical skills training to perform basic assessments and investigations .
• Recognise the importance of personal professional behaviours in yourself and healthcare professionals, including aspects relating to medical ethics and law, and social justice.
• Understand what is meant by holistic medicine in a clinical context.
• Recognise and demonstrate behaviour which reflects the professional codes of confidentiality, consent, courtesy and respect for other students, staff and patients.
