Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:

• Demonstrate experience of offshore geophysical surveys, including gaining an awareness of how equipment is safely mobilised, and systematic documentation of the data acquisition
• Understand the context and requirements for geophysical surveys with particular emphasis on those conducted in a marine environment linked to sustainable development
• Understand the mathematical background behind geophysical survey methods
• Systematically plan an effective offshore survey to achieve specific objectives, including choice of an appropriate suite of survey equipment
• Use GIS for analysis and presentation of geospatial data
• Communicate your work effectively in a range of formats including oral presentation and written reports
• Conduct a systematic desk-based analysis including literature review and data mining
