Mr Matt Perks is a Senior Teaching Fellow within Southampton Education School at the University of Southampton.

Matt Perks is Lead Tutor for the PGCE Secondary Science courses and the Science Subject Knowledge Enhancement courses within the Southampton Education School Initial Teacher Education programmes. He also leads the Post-16 Education: Critical Observations module on the BSc Education programme.

He graduated with 1st class Honours from Liverpool John Moores University in 1996 and taught Biology and Chemistry to GCSE and Physics to A-Level in several different secondary schools before joining the staff of Itchen Sixth Form College in Southampton in 2004 where, as well as teaching Core Science GCSE and A-Level Physics he held a management position with responsibility for the college timetable. He moved to take up his present position in September 2013.
