Mr Matt Perks is Senior Teaching Fellow within Southampton Education School at the University of Southampton.

Matt Perks is a Curriculum Tutor on the Secondary Science PGCE course and the Physics Subject Knowledge Enhancement course. He also has responsibility for all physics subject knowledge modules on the Troops to Teachers programme, a prestigious national programme targeted at Service leavers and run by a consortium of universities.

He graduated with 1st class Honours from Liverpool John Moores University in 1996 and taught Biology and Chemistry to GCSE and Physics to A-Level in several different secondary schools before joining the staff of Itchen Sixth Form College in Southampton in 2004 where, as well as teaching Core Science GCSE and A-Level Physics he held a management position with responsibility for the college timetable. He moved to take up his present position in September 2013.
