Dr Nazmul Haq is a Visiting Research Fellow within Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton.

Vegetation, energy plants, crop improvement, water management, ecosystem management, underutilised crops Vegetation in engineering in relation to land stabilisation and ecosystem management. Screening and selection of plants (wild and domesticated) for cleaning contaminated land. Selection and adaptation of higher biomass plants for Europe. Improving crops for sustainable livelihood with special emphasis on new / underutilised crops. The recent research is on crop improvement, on the assessment of diversity of tropical fruits, indigenous vegetables and legumes in Africa, Asia and the development of techniques for their propagation and production in their existing farming systems.
