Jackie Phillips moved to Southampton in the early 1980’s to pursue her interest in critical care nursing where she spent time as a ward sister on the cardiac intensive care unit. She moved into Education in the early 1990’s. Now Adult Nursing Lecturer at the University of Southampton, she enjoys teaching across a range of adult nursing topics spanning both undergraduate and postgraduate.

I believe that a firm foundation in the art and science of nursing is fundamental to giving effective safe care and am passionate about teaching undergraduate adult nursing students.

I find supporting Mentors in practice and linking strongly with the wards I used to work in at Southampton University Hospital Trust especially rewarding.
