Dr Rebecca Foster BPharm, PhD
Research Fellow

Rebecca Foster is a Research Fellow within Health Sciences, University of Southampton. Her research interests include cancer survivorship, supportive cancer care and self management in long term conditions. She is currently working on an evaluation of a new approach to follow up care in prostate cancer. Other recent studies include a longitudinal observational study of cancer survivors following surgical treatment for lung cancer. Rebecca also has an interest in interprofessional education.
I am interested in how we can gather information from people who use health services and, by analysing that information, understand how care processes can be improved.
Becky is a member of the Macmillan Survivorship Research Group. Her research is focussed on understanding the issues affecting survivors of cancer, including health and well-being following treatment and self-management of consequences of treatment. She is primarily involved with the HORIZONS programme – a prospective, cohort study, which is following a group of over 3000 people diagnosed with cancer from the point of diagnosis, through treatment and over the life-course.
