Teaching
My teaching is focused on communication in healthcare with a particular emphasis on promoting engagement with therapy and enhancing motivation for health behaviour change.
I lead the Healthy Discussions for Physiotherapy (PSIO2033) and Healthy Discussions for Podiatry (PODY2031) modules (UG level) and lead the healthy discussions component of Integrated Clinical Cases (PSIO6043) for MSc (pre registration) Physiotherapy students. These modules focus on the use of psychologically informed interventions to encourage engagement with therapy and promote motivation for helpful behaviour change.
I also provide sessional input to several clinically focused modules for physiotherapy students. Subjects include: communication, self-management and exercise.
