Research project: Evaluation of a patient-held record for MRSA - Dormant

Currently Active:
No

This qualitative research study and service evaluation examined the impact of a patient-held record on the quality of care of patients with Meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Completion date: 31st January 2013.

The findings of the qualitative interviews with patients revealed they had unmet support needs that were not addressed by having or using the PHR. Despite the considerable work involved in devising and implementing the PHR, there were mixed views among the health professionals interviewed about its suitability and sustainability.

Funded by: Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, Hampshire, UK.
