I am a part-time PhD candidate in Modern Languages and Linguistics at the University of Southampton. My project focuses on EU migrants and how they use language to construct narratives of (un)belonging in Southampton within the context of Brexit.

I am in receipt of the Vice Chancellor's scholarship and my supervisory team are Professor Marion Demossier, Professor Jennifer Jenkins and Dr Sophie Holmes-Elliott.

I have ten years’ English-teaching experience in the U.K., Russia and South Korea. Alongside my studies, I work for a trade union.

In my spare time, I enjoy cycling and play the clarinet in a salon orchestra.

Research interests

My PhD project is using ethnography to investigate narratives of (un)belonging amongst EU migrants in Southampton.

My MA research focused on student identity construction through English and implications for the internationalisation agenda within Higher Education, using mixed methods research.

My publications so far have focused on my teaching interests, which include using technology and social media for language learning.
