MSci Marine Biology 1st Class Hons (University of Southampton)

Research interests

I am interested in developing and using marine photosynthetic organisms as platforms for the sustainable production of a wide variety of valuable compounds, for example biofuels.

My current research centres on ways to enhance the growth rate of diatoms. I am looking at different culturing/ dilution regimes and nutrient sources as well as identifying genes that could be engineered to increase energy synthesis and growth rate.
