About

Tony recently moved to the University of Southampton from the University of East Anglia.

Tony’s main field of research is time series machine learning (TSML). TSML involves learning predictive models from collections of ordered, possibly multivariate, real valued series. Time series problems arise in all areas of scientific enquiry. For example, human activity recognition from motion traces and diagnosis from medical signals such as ECG can all be phrased as TSML tasks.

He has developed state of the art algorithms for time series classification, clustering and regression and applied them to a wide range of applications such as detection of forged alcohol and the classification of insect species from reconstructed audio.
