Gopala Sasie Rekha is a Postgraduate Research Student within Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology at the University of Southampton.
I am interested in the position of women as victims of human right violations, the effects that the women will receive and the impact of family on having the female victims as their family members.
I am a PhD candidate in Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology at the University of Southampton. My research focuses in life of victims of sex trafficking after being trafficked. My work investigates how the experience of the victims of sex trafficking and their family during the reintegration process. In order to do so, I employ field experiments in developing countries. Prior to starting my PhD, I completed an LL.M in International Law at the National University of Malaysia and an MBA at University of Southern Queensland, Australia. Throughout my studies, I developed an interest in human right issues and gender issues, which has led to a narrower field on my research.
